Our flu clinic will be on Saturday, 12th October. Please phone after 2.00pm on any weekday to book.
We are now offering the RSV vaccine. If you are 75-79 please read all of this message!
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a virus that can affect the lungs and airways. In most people, RSV causes mild cold-like symptoms.
Occasionally, RSV can cause severe lung infections. These can include:
- bronchiolitis (an infection of the small airways in the lungs)
- pneumonia
RSV infections peak during late autumn and winter, but can happen all year round.

The RSV vaccine is recommended if:
- you’re pregnant (from 28 weeks of pregnancy) – this will help protect your baby for the first few months after they’re born
- you’re aged 75 to 79
The vaccine helps reduce the risk of RSV causing serious problems such as pneumonia and bronchiolitis.
If you’re aged 75 to 79, please contact the surgery about getting vaccinated. If you are 80 before 25th September 2024, you are not eligible.
If you’re 28 weeks pregnant or more, you can speak to your maternity service or the surgery about getting vaccinated.
